The lowlands at the south of Dinotopia, the Blackwood Flats consist of largely level ground, with few large trees and many grasses. Some carnivorous saurians live here, such as the Allosaurus and scavenger Red-Faced Tyrannosaurs.

The earthquake caused some initial localised flooding, but now the sea-level has shifted the streams are lower and drier than they once were.

Chandara

The capital of the south-east, in the past Chandara was the seat of a great empire. Today Chandara holds Dinotopia’s largest population of both humans and saurians.

Some of Chandara fell into the Zheng Tao River, which bisects it, but due to the shift in sea-level a good deal of that debris is recoverable. A city of stone, it weathered the damage better than most of the cities in Dinotopia, but still suffered general damage to many of its buildings and watercourses.
