Dinotopia

(Click on map for larger view)
Dinotopia is a large main island, with a smaller one called the Outer Island, surrounded by an impassable coral reef with a system of tides and winds that prevents navigation through it. As a result, leaving Dinotopia is effectively impossible.
The main island is approximately 385 kilometers (240 miles) in length, and 420 kilometers (260 miles) in breadth.
Since the earthquake, the island has been in disarray. The sea between Dinotopia and Outer Island has lowered, so much that parts of the sunken city of Poseidos are now visible and there is a thin land-bridge linking the islands. The Polongo River, the heart of Dinotopia’s freshwater systems, has been interrupted. Its exit into the ocean has lowered, but inland parts of it have been dammed and caused its levels to rise.
Most townships are experiencing severe shortages in tools and building supplies due to the damage done to the blacksmithing town of Volcaneum, and while food is not yet in desperate state, supplies have nevertheless been rationed by most areas.
The smaller villages and towns lasted better than the larger. Ranches and farms saw some light damage to fences or barns, but are otherwise fine. Larger towns have suffered worse, particularly those on mountains.
