Rainy Basin

The Rainy Basin is a large area of land in the interior of the Dinotopian mainland. The area is largely made up of tropical rainforest, with few permanent settlements. Saurians who have decided to live as predators reside in the Rainy Basin, and groups travelling through the Basin will travel in large armoured groups for protection, with offerings of fish for the predators.

The Polongo River has broken its banks and flooded parts of the Rainy Basin, forcing the carnivores up toward the mountains or south toward Sauropolis. That said, due to the corpses beached by flooding most carnivores have not yet been forced to leave the Basin in search of food. Sauropolis’s Elders are currently in negotiations to allow guarded Basin residents to enter certain areas outside the Basin so they might feed on the saurian bodies too large to be moved. While this project makes a number of Dinotopians uncomfortable, it is widely considered preferable to the alternative of disease left by the corpses.

Temple Ruins

A sacred space for the saurians, the Temple Ruins are where the annual conference of the Habitat Partners is held. No one has yet gone to investigate its status after the earthquake.
